8 Places in Singapore in different time points

Singapore is a sister country that we are familiar with, but it doesn’t feel the same once every time we come. There is always some movement constantly developing. We can’t really envy people in this country enough. We came here many times, for work and for leisure with family. But, most of the time we often went to the same places. This time we had 2 days, the time would be enough for traveling within the city but we intended to find some new places in a new perspective.

We were aiming for the places that have never been visited so far and near to the city center. After spending time searching for information for a while before we’re leaving the hotel. We needed to have some plans. So it takes about an hour to find places that we want to go to. We found that there are many places and so 2 days may not enough. With the time being limited, I can summarize 8 places to visits where we may have a new perspective about Singapore this time.

1. ArtScience Museum

A hand-shaped building in front of the Marina Bay Sands department store. Because this is a distinctive building and is considered a landmark. We often sit in front of this building. People jogging, walking together when the weather is not too hot so most of us will come here in the evening. I have never thought of entering the building before, not knowing what they are doing inside. In this museum that combines art, science, and technology together.

During this period, there was an exhibition from the famous ‘Team Lab’ from Japan and was so very interesting. The exhibition is named ‘Future world’ for people who like to watch an exhibition with lighting and sound that interact with the audiences. This an option if you are not traveling to Japan soon. We went specifically to this exhibition which there is a cost of entry fees.

If you want to visit other exhibitions, they you will have to buy separate tickets for that. We buy the ticket through KLOOK application at a price of about 300 baht and we got a discount too. You do not have to queue up to buy tickets, just submit a QR code to the staff. It’s very convenient. The ArtScience Museum is open from 10 am to 7 pm, but the ticket box is closed at 6:30 pm before closes hour.

2. Haji Lane

Is a street alley which is quite artistic that is quite enjoyable to walk in. There are hand-made shops. Each store has a lovely decorated style, restaurants and bars, suitable for social gatherings. The street art is the color of this street with the gently sound music you can hear along. At the end of the road, there will be a famous Shrimp Noodle Shop. Good taste!

If walking from the North Bridge road a little further towards Masjid, the unique golden top, Masjid Sultan is next to Arab street. There will be a ceramic shop, lamps, carpets and fabrics there were inexpensive, with beautiful patterns.

3. ION Sky

Departing from the MRT station, Orchard will meet the luxury department store, ION. Who knows that there is a view on the 55th floor of the ION department store. If spending at least 20 SGD, we can exchange a tickets for entrance fees to watch the show by going to exchange tickets on the 4th floor in the ION department store. Behind the ticket exchange counter, there is an elevator entrance. You can ask timetable for the show. From the building, we can look at Marina Bay at eye level.

4. Chijmes

Near MRT City Hall station, is a church-like building. Here is the old Convent school. Now, is a Venue for wedding. This building with beautiful exterior designs, bwautiful corridors. We can walk around. Inside, there are some restaurant lined up. There is also a garden zone for chilling out with a romantic atmosphere.

5. Ford Canning

A park that suitable for relaxing walk, exercising, watching large trees, inhaling oxygen in the city. There are many kind of plants that are completely well-maintained. Not sure if what is the place inside really. But if we walk to the exit, toward Ford canning Rd. There will be a walkway, bend down to the tunnel which should be a popular photo spot right now.

6. Street art at Bras Basah

Lately, I like to walk through and see wall art, which expresses the culture and the story of each period through the artists. It is one of the most pleasant places to walk from the Singapore art museum near the Bras Basah metro. From the alley next to the Oxford Hotel will meet with street art as a collaboration of many artists. There are Thai Artist as well like Alex face and I do not know the rest :). If looking at the end of the road Will see the blue Peranakan house That still maintains the beauty well

7. Tiong Bahru

Is an old neighborhood that is a bit outside the city where seems to be nothing, no metro, so when travel you must come by bus. We arrived late morning. So we stop and have brunch at the Tiong Bahru Market, where the upper floor is like a Food court. They are inexpensive. After we filled our tummy, then went for a walk.

There looks like nothing but when walking down the various lanes. There will be a rice soup shop, a coffee shop, a French bakery, a famous restaurant called Tiong Bahru Bakery, which is very crowded. The day we came is not a holiday here. There is lots of movement of people in this area. The unique thing to point out is street art painted by Singaporeans. Unique style that is the way of life of the olden days.

8. The Jewel

The highlight would be an art piece, a big fountain in the middle of a new mall in Changi International Airport. There are a variety of trees taken into the building. There is a step seat that we can sit around and watch the nature inside this building. It reminds me of the Sci-fi movie. There was a train track running through. The creator may have imagination, and inspiration from the movie that I think of. Take time, sit and watch and enjoy before you leave the city. It is quite busy here. The fountain can be viewed from every floor which you see different views. This mall is linked to Terminal T1-T3 but not connected to T4.
